Bon Voyage: Hungarian Going Away Bash August 2011

One of our dear friends who's like a little brother to Bryan and I decided to spend a semester abroad in Hungary. Well, we couldn't let him go off on Adventure without a proper send off now could we?

I pulled out my chalkboard pieces again and had some roadmaps lying around. Taped them together with some clothespins and the Hungarian phrase for "Good Trip" and we were good to go.

I also took some brown paper bags and the rest of those road maps to make some pennant banners for around the room. This was at one of Jonathan's best buds house so she was really kind to let us decorate it up.

But we didn't want Jonathan to travel alone to Hungary. We wanted to remind him that he still had us even though we were hundreds of miles away. To accomplish this I ordered a Hungarian Travel Pocket guide and pretty much ripped it up. Inserted some blank pages here and there and than let all the guests take photos and write on the blank pages. Voila! Instant going away gift and a reminder that he was one loved dude.

Now don't let the following mad drawing skills fool you... they are not mine.
They belong to my amazing friend Rachel Davis. I tell her a vision and she makes it happen... literally. Check out her work and the crazy pals of one Mr. Jonathan Chawla.

This is Mr. Tony and Mrs. Joyce: Jonathan's amazing parents.
While they are uber proud of their genius child and his awesome adventures they were definitely going to miss him.

In fact... they had a hard time letting him go.
But the eventually did and he had a blast and we had one too giving him a proper send off.

Jo Utra Chawla!

God Bless,

  Jessica
